As far as novellas go, this is a excellent example of a lengthy prologue to the next book, Overtime. Is the novella necessary? Not exactly. Do I recommend you read it if you'll be reading Overtime? Possibly. So let me explain.

It outlines the events that are the starting catalyst for the Hero's change arc in Overtime. There is enough information in Overtime that the description of events outlined here is not necessary to enjoy the novel. But, if you want a better understanding of the demons the Hero must face then read this first.

This is not a HEA novella. As the reader you experience the demons he has but yet to fully acknowledge. It's not tear jerker sad, you just want to kick him into reality.
